CAR ALARM FIASCO I Need Help!!!?
Ok, so we got this new car, and i have been driving it to school (Honda Crv) And… it’s been acting a little tooooo funky.
Well, the car alarm keeps going off randomly!!! It’s soooo embarrising because i keep having to get called out of class to turn it off. So, today i asked the security guard who took me out of class what i should do and he said to keep it unlocked, and i did and it didn’t go off!!! But, when i parked it in our drive way when i got home and LOCKED it 10 minutes later it went off!! And i’m 100% sure someone isn’t trying to break into it!!!!

YOu prob. have a sensor that is acting up.. either that or the ‘brain’ of the system is fried.
Most alarms work on a current sensor. It detects a current draw that exceeds a pre-set maximum. If you have not added any new electronic devices that work all the time (not wired to the accessory position) then the best you can do is start disengaging each switch and see if that stops the problem.
You can also (at home) arm the unit, wait about 10 mintues and then start shaking and rocking it to see if it is some kind of a motion sensor that has gone south on you.
Otherwise.. it might be easier to simply put in a new alarm ($200 to $300 for a good one – installed)
