Playing with Metal Wall Panels
Metal Wall Panels are one of the modern-day wall decors popularly used to accentuate the walls of any room and replace wall paintings to convey a more contemporary appeal. These wall artworks come in a variety of designs, though generally, they are a collection of about nine, similarly-designed metal squares. Leaves and floral design are a popular favorite of manufacturers and patrons alike, although some manufacturing companies offer custom-made wall artworks if ever you’re the type who likes his own ideas materialized on his walls.
Different kinds of metals are used to create these masterpieces. Brass, wrought iron and copper are just some examples. When it comes to aesthetics, copper stands out best because of its versatility and customizability; you can use it both indoors and outdoors, it can naturally change colors and you can choose to select its appropriate thickness and customize its design up to the smallest details to suite your taste. Various kinds of texture can also be achieved if the master craftsman is used to playing well with copper.
Similar to copper, brass can also be sculpted to exude even the finest details because its alloy expands slightly just before it sets. With the right kind of finish and the proper protection, metal wall panels made of brass can indefinitely keep their color. Amongst all metals, brass also probably has the most variety in terms of surface finish and color.
Iron is one of the most widely used metal materials because of its abundance, durability and malleability. This gives it the similar versatility of brass and it is also considered good for outdoor use. Usually, a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine is used for metal preservation.
Metal wall artworks are masterpieces that not many homes use. It is this particular fact that makes them exude an additional flair and uniqueness when placed on the walls of any home. They are eye-catching, and their abstract quality intrigues their viewers while equally expressing their owner’s personality. They are inspiring and captivating. Before selecting from the wide variety of metal wall panels though, it would be wise to decide on a particular theme or mood that you would want to evoke. Consider which wall or area in your house you would be hanging these on as well as if they would fit your house’s architectural design. The size of the panels will also matter—large kinds are excellent decorations for the foyer, whereas small ones can add life to an otherwise plain wall.
